ADX515/6/7 is a low-noise, 60kSPS, 24-bit Δ-Σ (Delta-Sigma) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with an integrated multiplexer (mux), input buffer, and programmable gain amplifier (PGA). The input multiplexer accepts four differential or eight single-ended input measurements. Sensor open detection circuitry verifies the continuity of the ADC's input connections. Chooseable input buffers significantly increase input impedance and in many cases eliminate the need for external buffers. The buffered input voltage range includes AVSS. The low-noise PGA provides gains from 1 to 128 to accommodate a variety of input signals. Programmable digital filters optimize ADC resolution (up to 23 noise-free bits) and conversion rate (up to 60kSPS). Digital filters offer single-cycle settling conversions and can be configured to reject 50Hz and 60Hz interference. A SPI-compatible serial interface requires only three wires to operate, simplifying connections with external controllers. Integrated calibration features support self-calibration and system calibration for offset and gain error across all PGA gain settings. Four bidirectional digital I/O pins are provided for controlling external circuits.
