  • The AFE966 device is part of a series of low-noise, 24-bit simultaneous sampling delta-sigma analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) available in four-channel, six-channel, and eight-channel configurations. This series integrates programmable gain amplifiers (PGAs), internal references, and on-board oscillators, making it highly suitable for applications such as extracranial electroencephalography (EEG) and electrocardiography (ECG). With high integration and exceptional performance, the AFE964/AFE966/AFE968 series significantly reduces size, power consumption, and overall system costs, enabling scalable medical instrumentation systems. Each channel features a flexible input multiplexer that can independently connect internally generated signals for testing, temperature, and lead-off detection. Users can also configure any input channel to generate a patient bias output signal. These devices provide a VDAC excitation source capable of generating both DC and AC voltage excitation signals. An optional SRB pin allows routing common signals to multiple inputs for reference configurations. The AFE964/AFE966/AFE968 supports data rates from 125 SPS to 32 kSPS and facilitates lead-off detection through internal excitation current sink/source capabilities. In multi-channel systems, multiple AFE964, AFE966, or AFE968 devices can be connected in a daisy-chain configuration. The devices are available in QFP-64 and BGA-64 packages and operate within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
